Hello Robert, David and Larry.

Larry, my son received information on many CT rates at MEPS. The info for CTT says 8 weeks for “A” school and 7-10 weeks for “D” school. This is info last revised on 1/08.

Sons at Corry Station, he will be completing C school (CTN) in about 3 weeks, then coming home for about 2 weeks. He then returns to Corry for his duty assignment. Planning on going down and pick him up...........any excuse to go south and out of ohio winter for a few days.

Welcome Larry, looks like this group could already be a hit, I know my daughter only knew about four others in her division that were to be in the CT field, so generally we might be a fairly small group. Larry I do apprieciate your offer for our girls to get together, maybe they already know each other. I belong to several Navy sites and I choose not to mention my daughters name or post pics. I do this for her safety. This is a public forum that can be accessed by anyone. The CT field is a sensitve one and I may be a little paranoid but I will err on the side of caution. Hope you and others don't find offense to this. I love this site, it's a wealth of information. Take care..........Rick

Tony thanks for starting this group. Rick what is your daughters name maybe her and Sami could meet up sometime. she is at Corry also. Your daughter started class this week, good for her, mine is still waiting. How long is A school for CTT do you know? I figure to take a trip to Pcola in April weather should be much warmer then. I understand there are some nice golf courses there. What better vacation than to see my sailor and golf!

Congratulations to you and your son Robert. Just about any weather is better than the GL in winter..LOL. My daughter says it's definitly better in Fl. The barracks at Corry Station are really nice, only two to a room, internet access if they want it, not too bad. Also she says everyone is very relaxed there, even the officers. They do PT 3times a week, but nothing like BC. Her six week wait was definitly short compared to most, and she was home for 10days during Xmas so it didn't seem long at all for her. And thx Tony for starting this group, I thought about it but procrastinated.....Take care........... Rick

Hello Tony & Rick. My son just passed Battlestations today and will PIR on 1/30/09. Then it is off to Pensacola for “A” School. Rick, last month I would have said 6 weeks sounds like a long time but from what I have read recently about the waiting its sounds pretty good. Luckily from what I understand it is nice there. It has to beat the cold snowy weather in Great Lakes. Tony, thanks for starting this group.

They are in what's called "holding". They are given busy work to do everyday, nothing real exciting. Some are in holding longer than others. The CT's can't start school until they at least have a security badge, it's not the full out security clearance, but it's enough to get going. According to her many people don't get their badge right away and that holds them up.......Rick

Hello Rick, What do the Sailors do while waiting for A School to start?

Hi Tony, welcome to the boards. My daughter is a CTR, she's in Pensacola Fla. and just classed up this week. She was one of the lucky ones and only had to wait about 6weeks to start A school. Good luck to your daughter on her career.........Rick
