Thanks to all of you for the comments. Adam signed up for 6 years of active duty. Off to Pensacola for about 35 weeks after PIR.

Greetings All!  My daughter just arrived to RTC on 9/1 and her PIR is 10/30.  She will be headed to the DLIFLC the next day I imagine.  Any tips, tricks and pointers for success as a CTI will be helpful.

Richard- Our daughter decided to join the US Navy after her freshman year at University! She is taking online classes in order to finish her degree eventually.

Hey David! Our Son finished Basic back 2014, language (A) school, in early 2015, and is now doing work work and he loves it!  He's in for six and we hope to visit him next year; albeit he'll be back to CA for Christmas.  We had very mixed feelings about him leaving the University after his sophomore year, but the move to the Navy has been extremely good for him and rewarding.  Keep us posted...

Hi David- Welcome! As Jim says, that link is a great place for the descriptions. Did your son sign up for a 4 year or 6 year CTT gig? My sailor, she shipped out on Memorial Day 2012 and now is CTT2 (Petty Officer 2nd Class) and loves serving in the Navy. She signed on for the 6 year option (comes with additional training) and is likely going to re-enlist when that time comes.

I'm new to this. Looking forward to learning more about CTT. I posted a lengthy comment this morning, my son ships out 9/22 to RTC and will go through CTT AEF in Pensacola after that.

Great news Marc!  A very special day for your son, Peter.  All the Best!

My son Peter just got his orders.  He will be on the USS Anchorage (LPD-23) out of San Diego.  He gets his "Crows" in September. I'm so proud of him.

We will be visiting our Seaman at the DLIFLC over the Labor Day weekend and will remain in the area to enjoy Monterey, CA.  Since we'll be there, would anyone like us to follow up on anything for you while we are there?
