It's been a long time since I've posted, I've finished the USS Laffey and felt she needed to ride next to the NC.

I've also built the USS Momsen (above) and the USS Vicksburg (below)

The Vicksburg was a challenge with fit and warped pieces, but in the end I am very happy with her.

I think this year I'm going to go aviation.  I picked up a VF-2 1/48 Tomcat that I'm going to put on the cat with the deck crew doing what they do best.

Thanks. It was a lot of fun.

I pulled out the USS Laffey last night. Boy are those parts small.

OK, it's been about 250 hours, but the North Carolina is done!!!

Thanks for the compliment. I'll bet I have close to 150 hours so far. I still have a long way to go. It seemed to take forever just to get the 50 Cal guns done. There are 4 pieces to each one, and there are 50 of them on the ship. Keep us updated on your build. After the Laffey I was thinking of doing the Missouri myself.

Great! Thanks Mark. Looks as though you have a very responsible crew aboard! Just how long did this take? The detail is breathtaking!

You are going to love building the Missouri! I am almost done with my NC, and I loved every minute of it.

Here is the link to my build page.

I have just purchased the USS Laffey, and also a 78foot 1/350 Higgins PT boat. Love that 350 scale.

Thanks Chief. I'm getting ready to start on my USS Missouri project after I get back from Reenactor Fest (a reenactor convention, I do WWII reenacting) in early Feb. I'll keep everyone posted. I've pretty well decided to do a 1/350 scale version of the Nimitz when my son gets back from his "sea vacation" aboard CVN 75 (I'll need his help, LOL!)

Otto, I really like the Nimitz display! I have 1 yr, 3 mos, and 29 days living aboard that ship! What a neat collection!
