Navy Dads

I am going to become a GSM in a couple months. I have been trying to find a GSM to talk to just to find something out about this job. I'm afraid I won't like it or get bored with it. I'm a small girl who knows nothing about mechanics but mechanic jobs are all I qualified for. If there is anyone who could tell me more about it, more than what I have already read online. Maybe some neat stories to go with the job to get me excited to leave for it. Thanks so much, hope to hear from someone soon!

Hi Paige,  What would you like to know about your rating?  The USS The Sullivans is a great ship!

Hello Paige. Sorry no one has responded yet. In the group for GSM look for a member Laron Leake. His daughter is a GSM on the USS Sullivans. Maybe you could get her e-mail address from him and correspond with her.
I looked for her on that ship and any other possible GSM but I didn't find any. If you could maybe give me another ship that might have one on I could continue to try looking.

My son has a PIR of 1/27/12, then begins his A school for GSM.  Does anyone know how many weeks A school lasts?  I think I have a basic understanding of what he will be doing, but am interested in any information anyone may be willing to share.  Thanks.
