I've told many people that Jim....things you once took for granted take on a new meaning and importance once you have a son and/or daughter wearing the uniform.

I'm hearing that today is Gold Star Mother's Day, so I am sending a greeting to all of you who have lost loved ones in the service of our country. Thank you for your sacrifice. May God Bless you and give you strength as you deal with your loss.

David, I can not tell you and your wife this journey you are now traveling will get any easier or the pain you feel will get lighter or even go away. But I can tell you, you will never have to walk alone just hold out your hands and those of ue already on this journey will take them and hold them tight for we need your support just as much as you need our. Also remember we all must keep going to keep the memories of our children alive. Sending my love, hugs and my prayers.

David-- you and your family continue to be in our prayers during these difficult times. You will continue to have tough days, but rest assured that Russell is being held by the Lord in His loving and powerful arms.

We may face a lot of pain in our lives. But, God promises that he'll wipe away all our pain in heaven. We won't lose anyone anymore, we won't struggle to meet our needs and no one hurt us. From God's perspective, our pain will only last a little while. But, his comfort will remain forever.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. REVELATION 21:4

Feeling bummed today it was exactly 8 weeks ago today that the Navy came knocking on our door, and told us of Russell's death.
