Amazing how smart Mom and dad become as the kids grow older...

Thanks for the response Kevin. I have been trying to tell my son how it is, but you know parents do not know anything. They usually don't realize we do until they become parents. Gary

Sounds like situation normal at A school...hurry up and wait! That's typical when there are so many students and only so many seats in a class. Funny thing is that they'll look back to the "good old days of A school and lots of time off" when they're working 12-16 hours a day in the fleet. Luke has a very changing and demanding schedule which frequently takes him away from "home base" for days at a time, so he enjoys his down time now more than he did in A school. That's good advice to get a good workout and read a good book or two while waiting to class up.

Gary, I have some great news for you. Follow the link I pasted. The Student Division Commander on Navy for Moms is the head of the Enterprise. He is a GREAT guy. I have corresponded with him many, many times. If you have any questions he will not hesitate to help. He has 2 others that answer also, Hoppie and Chris(?)I believe. I am 1 of maybe 2 or 3 guys on there. It would be nice to have some testosterone on there! LOL. You have to join just like on here. I have posted many times on there and I also was the "winner" of renaming the site to Great Lakes A School Q & A. There is a LOT of girl talk so you will have to sift through all the junk but William will answer you directly. See you there! Peace, Bill

Bill, well Nicholas got moved today. He is on the Enterprise. Looks like he is following in Brett's path. Not everyone was moved from the Franklin. Nicks roommate stayed. Another sailor in the GM program stayed. Nicks depressed. He submitted his chit for phase 2. They told him paper gets lost during moves. He may have to do it all again.

His first night on the new ship and he cant go to bed til after 01:00 hours. He must stay up for the night SCC class when they get off. He starts SCC tomorrow afternoon. Any does and don'ts on the Enterprise.

Hey Gary, the classes are a self paced class. They can set their own work load. Open classes are are available for extra study. The higher they score the more of a chance they have of getting their preference for their wish list. They can go to class whenever they have free time or if they chose they can go only when required. It is totally up to the individual. TTL, Bill

Thanks again Bill. Does the free time in open class help them get through the phase faster or just stay up with the work requirements of the class?,

Thanks Gary, Brett is sooooo happy to finally have started schooling. They have open classes so he can go and do class work when ever he has free time along with the regular class schedule. Nick should have another 7-10 days before SCC if the time frame is still somewhat the same. Tell him to hang in there. As always with the military, hurry up and wait!! TTL, Bill

Congrats on the ATT school Bill. Nicholas turned his chit in for phase 2. It took him 1 and 1/2 weeks. Still hasn't heard anything about SCC. Poor kid is bored out of his life. Nothing to do. Told him to go to the gym twice a day, stay in shape, and read a book. I also told him to enjoy his stay on dry land and his room. Gary F.

Hey everyone, my son FINALLY got called up for ATT. He has been on hold since 2/11/09. 42 days on hold. Now you know why these young men get so moody. Thank the Lord they put in night classes or the holds would have been 2-3 weeks longer. I will update again soon. Looks like holds between ATT and A are about 3-5 days. Peace, Bill
