Hey everyone, my son FINALLY got called up for ATT. He has been on hold since 2/11/09. 42 days on hold. Now you know why these young men get so moody. Thank the Lord they put in night classes or the holds would have been 2-3 weeks longer. I will update again soon. Looks like holds between ATT and A are about 3-5 days. Peace, Bill

A chit is a written request to deviate from the normal policy. Tell your son to " shadow " the more experienced sailors and to ask a lot of questions. That's how my son did it and he learned FAST. Don't worry Gary, they look out for each other and Nick won't have a problem as long as he keep a close eye on how things are done. TTL,Bill

Thanks again Bill. Nick is currently housed at the USS Franklin ship 833. Don't quite understand what a chit is though. Nick did say something about a test. His calls are short and sweet. Kids always doing something. He has a new I-phone.

Hey Gary, I asked my son about phase 2 and this is response. This is for all the Dads out there that want to know.

You have to stand shadow watches, get room inspects, personal inspects, watch colors in your dress blues, and pass a test. The test is easy. If he is going to the Frankin they will give him the answers about the chain of command and stuff. I took mine at the Enterprise. Know your 11 general orders, and then you have to route your chit and they will approve it and you get phase 2.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to poke me and I will see what I can do. Peace and Godspeed to our Sailors, Bill

Bill, Nick contacted me on 20/13/09. He finished his INDOC and is now officially on HOLD for SCC. They just told wait. No idea as to a start date. The wait is not a problem for Nick, what he wants is to be placed in phase 2 so he can wear civilian clothing again. Gary F.

Thanks for the response Bill! Be looking forward to future up dates. My son thinks I'm a real genius since I know more then him. Gary F.

Hey Gary, Brett was INDOC for 17 days. He moved on a Monday, started SCC on Wednesday. Moved again 2 days later. Was in that ship for less than 2 weeks and moved again. 4 ships in less that 2 months. He is still on hold for ATT. Been waiting over 4 weeks now. They just started night classes last week so your boy may not have to wait as long. Hopefully. I will update you and the web site the minute Brett starts ATT to help nail down the time lines everyone. TTL, Bill

Bill, my son is currently in INDOC starting 16/03/09. How many business days are required for this and how long did your son wait before going to SCC? I understand SCC is around 9 business days (2 weeks) before the wait for GM-ATT. Just want to pick your brain since it is the freshest one I know re: the GM program. Gary F.

Glad to hear they are moving along Bill. WOW, that means sometime in April for the school. Then hurry up and wait again. My son will PIR on 13/Mar/09. Looks like he may be there for a long long time. Thanks for the input. Once basic is over I will tell him what he has to look forward too. Gary.
