Hey all my son Sean has said that his petty officers have told him that his job as gunners mate that  he will probably advance in rank quickly as their are so few gunners mates. Where do they usually attend C school after their A school at Great lakes?. thank you for this info. Dan.

Dan, may I give you a proud welcome to the GM group. Best of luck to you and your son. I am sure he will enjoy being a GM. My son joined the Navy on 13 Jan 2009 and is currently in Hawaii.

I am sure you will have many questions ref being a GM or being in Boot Camp. Feel free to ask. I am sure someone will have an answer. The boot camp group should have all of the most current information on basic training. More information will come from videos and the Discussion Forum above. Joe finally made it to san dog on 26Nov11. Enjoyed his fast leave during the Thanksgiving holiday.  I have enjoyed the big change in him, so mature now, forward thinking.  It was tough trying to make a Man out of him when I only had him 4 day a month.  Thank you USN.

Joe will graduate from A School 3Sept11, then head out for home then to San Diego, and the USS Green Bay.
