Brett said they do it every year on his ship. The Donald Cook. I don't know about the others. It may be because his ship is the flag ship for
"Commander, Destroyer Squadron TWO". It always gets the TV and Newspaper press when it leaves and returns for long term deployment.
I will make sure to ask when I'm aboard. Some one in the chain of command on the ship should know and I will past it along.

Bill, is the Tiger Cruise something they do on all ships or is it done only on a designated few. I didn't know they did it on the smaller ships. Thought it was just done on the air craft carriers. Gary T.

He is loving it! Still a little apprehensive about deployment. He will be going in the next few weeks. We are going down soon to do the Tiger cruise for the day. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! Their daughter is growing fast and is bringing much joy to them. I'm glad the deployments will be short term for the near future so he won't miss the to much.
Brett loves the job, says he has a great crew and nobody knows the meaning of "slacking". He really likes the fact that they have each others back. He says it's worlds different that boot or school. Everyone seems tighter. That is a great relief to us. I'm sure you will get the same from Nick. Keep in touch.

Thanks Bill. How is your son doing? Is the real NAVY what he expected? Hows the grand baby? Gary T.

Well, just got back from Vegas. Spent the week-end with Nicholas. He and two class mates, a GM1 and a GM 2 drove up from San Diego. Had a great time. Nick has three and one half weeks of C-School left. I may fly to San Diego for his C-School graduation. I also have to save my money for my trip to Hawaii. Bill and Glen your right about missing the boys. Even after a short meet I miss my son and its only been 4 days. Gary T.,

Hang in there Glen. I know the feeling and this is just 6 weeks into boot camp. We got to talk to him for a few minutes on Sunday. Not sure if it helped or made me miss him more...
