Welcome to Laurence Richard Crabtree
Dad of 2 Navy men, one has been in for an extended amount of time now. Things I have gained from this time, is #1 for the safety of your children, do not mention their rate , duty station or ship that they serve on, # 2 do not discuss disposition of the ship either in service or at sea. When my middle son went on his first deployment, we received an e-mail from the ship command. We were instructed due to the high volume of chatter not to discuss anything about the ship electronically or on the telephone. We were told that those that want to harm us look for names, ship name, deployments, even family members names and the jobs or home addresses of family members. So be careful out there. Now on the lighter side, if any of you have the opportunity to enjoy a tiger cruise, mortgage the house and go. It will be a trip and experience of a life time. The men and women of our armed forces do one fantastic job. I considered it an honor to spend the time with them and would do it again in a heart beat. You just have to remember that these are war ships, not a cruise ship.
