Chris, if you are like the rest of us you are going to love it. Your wait has been long but worth it. You will be very impressed with your new Sailor. I live 4 miles S/E of Pittsboro. Our son PIR'd last December. Youll never forget it. Welcome aboard.
Paul you are right. How fast we (I) forget. :) There is a 50 mile limit for liberty.
Chris, check out the RTC website (http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/) lost of info....
as I recall there is a 50 mile limit to travel away from RTC on liberty....
my son Zachary goes through PIR this Friday and we cannot wait to attend the ceramony and visit with our son. We live in Pittsboro just west of Indianapolis. Looking for any tips about PIR
Mark, I would check the RTC website, they might have something about holiday routine. Even though PIR is on a Thurs., he may still have to report to his next duty station/"A" school.
Hello all!! My son has pir on Sept 1 2011 it falls on a thursday. That Monday the 5th is Labor day. Whats the chances my boy can come home for a couple days. We are just 1 1/2 hrs away in South Bend Indiana? ANYONE:)
Jesse,
My son is an Engineering Aide (EA). He also went to "A" school right after PIR but came home after "A" school for a short period.....not long enough. We hope to see hime next March.
