Hello everyone, new to the site and new to the Navy. My son has just arrived at Yokosuka and is on the USS Stethem. So any information you can offer, would be fantastic. Merry Christmas.
posted from the George Washington today on FB:
Update to USFJ Liberty Policy: All E-4 and below are required to have a liberty buddy between the hours of 1900-0500 when off base. You are not required to come back to the ship to fill out a liberty plan today, but the policy is effective immediately. Members may transit unaccompanied between authorized residence and a military installation.
Congrads Stanley! seems like everyone is going to have a Merry Christmas.
More Great news!! sailor Advanced! Here's what she had to say:
Yes, it may have taken the Navy 17 days to fix their simple math error, but all that matters now is that it says SELECTEE...It's been a long couple weeks of fighting, but it feels good to make it official
I don't talk on here but have been montoring for the past 3 years this will be our best christmas ever...our son Patrick has been stationed in Atsuig with the 115 eagles for the last 3 years..he re-enlisted for 5 more years..he is an e-5 class 2 petty officer..he is comming home tomorrow morning for 30 days..can't wait..then he got re assined to China Lake California..thank all of your children for serving our country.Proud Navy Dad..Stanley R.Tillotson
So Jim, is your son/daughter in VP-45? We haven't heard yet from our son who just arrived--other than facebook update.
That is GREAT news! Congrads to all
Make sure to get a picture of that first salute! I see a Huge picture hanging in your living room. lol
It is with great joy that I can now announce that my son Garrett, having served out in Japan with HS-14 for almost 4 years and is coming to the end of his 6 year commitment, has re-enlisted for 4 more years and has accepted orders to return in February as a RSS instructor! The student now becomes the teacher, and the best part for us is he comes back home to Florida! While Pensacola is many hours from Orlando, we are happy to make that drive! It gets better, as he is coming home Monday so he can travel with family to Quantico, VA to attend his sister's graduation from the US Marines Officer Candidates School as a 2nd Lt. and to have the honor in the ceremony of the first enlisted to salute her on Friday Dec 14. What a wonderful December to remember in our family. I hope that you all enjoy the Christmas season this year.
Congrads John!
Prayers going out to Japan and our Military over there. my duaghter helped head the last one.....not a pretty site.
Six more days and my daughter returns for 2 weeks leave after over a year on deployment. She can't wait and neither can I.
yes, it's very sad but necessary. All military, even those traveling.....the hotles have to be okay"d by the command.....very serious and sad situation.
