Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello everyone. It has been a while since I have had the opportunity to visit the site. I hope this finds everyone well and that your sailor's are safe and sound over in Japan. Unfortunately there were major quakes today over there (6.8 & 6.3) from the north to Tokyo. We spoke to our son in Yokosuka and he did say that they clearly felt the 2nd round but that all was well.

As we speak, our son continues his rehabilitation on base after his second surgery in a year (repaired shoulder & knee cap) and has been working at the Naval Hospital there. He would love to get on with his Navy career but now waits to hear what the Navy will decide about his future. We ask that you keep him in your prayers. Wishing everyone the best. ~Brandon

Remembering the people of Japan and the men and women of the 7th Fleet and their families on the one year anniversary of the 9.0 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown. Praying for a better year for each and every one of them. I heard so many sad and scary stories about it when I was in Japan last August. What a resilient people.

USS McCampbell, DDG 85, just posted on Facebook showing the finish of work in drydock and flooding the space. I imagine sea trials are next. My daughter finally gets to go to sea!

Sorry Mark. We've been busy here. Update on our Sailor is that he is still on LimDu. Doc gave him six more months. Still not pleased with how his knee is doing. He's working a desk job on the base and healing up. We're really pleased that he is up to a 'whopping' 142 lbs.. A big improvement over 105 lbs.. Thankfully, things seem to be rather calm over there. Thank goodness. We've been praying about the 1 year anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami coming up. I've signed up with Samaritans Purse to go over to the Fukushima/Daichi area to help with clean up. Just trying to clear my schedule as they want a one month commitment. I'd love to get back over there. Hope you all are well!

Love the photo - that is where my son is, also!  Just that little photo made my day and helps me to feel a little closer to Sasebo/Denver.

For all the parents of sailors in Japan and those who were a part of the relief efforts last year, please, please watch the video I asked Jim (admin) to post showing a proud nation giving thanks.  Both you and your sailors will feel special emotions while watching this.
