Unbelievable about the snowstorm Mark. You have to wonder how much more that country can take. We'll be praying. Thanks for letting us know.

Cora - when you get the opportunity to check, know that we have you in our prayers as well as all of our sailors that are coming State Side.

Enjoy the Super Bowl tomorrow everyone!

The finished project. After four arduous days of sculpting, the Navy Misawa Snow Sculpture Team completes "The Lone Sailor." Hooyah, snow team, now go warm up with some Sapporo ramen.

@Cora, @Blondie - So thrilled that both of your sailors are headed stateside! It has to be a tremendous feeling to know how much they have accomplished. I also want to thank you for the support you have shown during what has been a pretty tumultuous time for our son. This has been his 2nd surgery in a years time, putting a hold on his Navy career. Fortunately he is recovering nicely and will be back on his feet in no time. As always, the best to all.

Hello All

Made it back home after a wonderful trip.  We spent a week and a half exploring Japan.  And a day on the base.  As my sailor had said there is so much more to Japan than the base.  We loved all of it. Feel assured your sailors are well taken care of and have a world open to them to explore that is beyond description.  The food as we learned is best said "Try it first then ask what it is".  Lol and it is true .  If you ask first you may miss out on the best food you will ever eat.  Everyone on and off base is so helpful and courteous.  It is another world.

Brandon & Cynthia,

Heath texted us at 3:38 AM to let us know that when he got off work and made it to the hospital, Mike had already been released. So he went to his room to check on him. His roommate Josh said that he had basically been sound asleep since he got back and "wasn't feeling any pain". I'm glad to hear that he is resting. Heath said he'll keep us updated on how he is doing. Praying that you got to talk with the doc and that they are pleased with how the surgery went, as well as for a quick and complete recovery.

Hope you're getting some rest. We know how those middle of the night surgery things can wear you down.

Robin & Scott
