Robin/Scott, Thank you so much for your note and for your concern. No one knows better then you what it is like to be so far away from our loved ones when they are having surgery. This is Mike's second go round (1st was shoulder surgery almost a year ago). It makes us feel better to know that Heath will be there for him, your son is an inspiration to all of us. Mike seems very comfortable with the orthopedic surgeon so all we can do now is pray that all goes well.

Again, thank you both for your love and concern and we will wait for good news. God bless.

Brandon,

Our son Heath will be stopping in to check on Mike after his surgery tomorrow. I'll be sure to let you know if he gets a chance to let us know how he is doing. Just wanted you to know that he won't be alone. Heath understands how he'll be feeling, so I know he'll be an encouragement. They were together about an hour ago. It makes me feel good to know that our Sailors are there to encourage one another through these kinds of things. In the meantime, we'll be praying for a successful surgery.

Robin & Scott

P.s. the orthopedic is surgeon is good at what he does...nice guy. You can feel confident that he'll do a fine job.

thanks Mark, once sailor gets here life will get crazy for a few days (4) then we pack up and move 2 hours away to town our son lives in and where the wedding is and have another crazy 4 days, then back home and send her home.  Bummer!  but taking a week off work to travel and party.

I hope that everyone has enjoyed their holiday. Like yourself Richard, our son Mike has been home for making it an absolutely great time for our family. As we speak he is packing for his return trip to Yokosuka. He is scheduled for knee surgery on the 18th so we are all a bit nervous as you might expect. Regardless, we enjoyed our time with him although we are not sure when we will get to have him home again. Best to everyone, god bless.

I have to admit I have'nt been on this site since my son Eric arrived here on leave on the 29th of Dec. It sure is nice to have him home but he has to go back on Wed. I'm sure I will be checking in everyday when he leaves always looking for any info from the GW. I hope everyone had a great New year holiday. One of the best I ever had because of my son being home.

@Mark - I'm so sorry to hear about your local units loss. We'll keep their families in our sincerest prayers.

@ Larry - So glad to hear that you are getting to enjoy Japan so thoroughly! Congratulations on your new daughter-in-law! Enjoy the base and Yokosuka!

Sorry Mark
Made the mistake of telling my sailor we were here to see everything not to sleep. He took me at my word. We have been to his wedding ceremony 500 miles south of Tokyo. Then sightseeing all the way back. Over a week and just got to Yokosuka. His leave was over so now we are going to get to see his ship and the base.
