We were excited to hear from a friend who is in Japan on businesswomen he found out that his company had made plans for he and his coworkers to tour a Navy base while there. And to our surprise it's our son's base! Our son is going to be able to accompany the group and show them some things and he'll be able to have dinner with our friend! This world is indeed much smaller than we realize sometimes.

That we do Mark, that we do. My son's grandfather also flew up from Florida for the long weekend and we had all three generations here together. Who knows how many more opportunities there will be for this. It was indeed a special weekend.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Still having a hard time believing my son is in the house and sleeping in his own bed. We are enjoying every minute of this and I only wish the same for you and yours.

Had the surprise of a lifetime last night. Had a Super Bowl party here at our home and out of nowhere, in walked our son Mike! He took his first leave from Japan to be home for my birthday and for the game. A special thanks to my wife Cynthia for arranging all of this with him. I am truly blessed.

Last I heard, my son and some friends were having a Super bowl party! Hope they get to enjoy. This is usually a big day for our family, one of those days we really miss him.
