To all my fellow Navy dads:

メリークリスマス

Great to hear of all the families whose sailors are making it home for Christmas!  We will look forward to having a Christmas surprise from our son in the future...

Well, Aaron called last night to let us know he had arrived at Narita yesterday and has started his GW Indoc.  He is enjoying things so far, although they have them staying  on a barge during Indoc (he will probably find he has more room than he will on the ship!).  He only forgot a few small items that he needs to purchase now, and they were taking them on a tour of the town last night to get them acclimated.

Absolutely Mark. We are hoping that by next Xmas we will be able to have our son home for the holiday as well. Until then all we can do live vicariously through those who are truly blessed to have their loved ones with them.

Tremendous to hear all these stories about son's and daughters surprising their families. There is not a greater Xmas present I can think of. To all of those who are lucky enough to have their sailor's home, to be able to see their smiles and touch their faces, god bless you all. Enjoy them to the fullest, you are truly fortunate.

Son, Aaron, should have landed at Narita last night..hoping to hear from him soon and I join with all in prayers for a safe, quiet Christmas for all our servicemen and women in the region!

Thanks for all the support and info, so far so good.  Will update when I hear more.

My son showed up on our doorstep on Friday.  Was a total surprise.  How cool is that.   Now just hoping N.Korea behaves so that his leave isn't cut short.  Happy Holidays.

Jim, all over the news this morning that N Korea will  not retaliate and that the excercise went off without incident. Looks like China quietly showed up....Great news for our loved ones. Hopefully, they will be taken off alert and will be able to enjoy their Xmas in peace and safety.

Our son called this morning and asked for prayer about the situation. Many, many people praying. These guys deserve a nice quiet Christmas...and so do their families.
