Jody, I'm sure you probably have this already, but here is the link to the Denver's official website: http://www.public.navy.mil/surfor/lpd9/Pages/default.aspx

Hey Jim, hope your Thanksgiving holiday was great. Yes I see Paul's post, guess that explains it!

Hey all. I have been reading your posts and I am curious whether or not the Lassen just has taken down their site temporarily? My son is aboard the USS GW and very often their email goes down, probably for security reasons depending where they are. But my son does have an email address and it is accessible when they are allowed. Wondering if this might be the case? Safe seas to all our loved ones.

Thanks Paul. This website is a terrific resource. I will follow up with the ombudsman.

the Navy provided me with the correct website for the Lassen: http://www.public.navy.mil/surfor/ddg82/Pages/default.aspx.

And I have their assurance that as FB is considered a social network only, that there is no plan to replace any of the official ship sites with FB.

i spent some time looking for the Lassen website with no joy...I'm seeing that trend all over the Navy where ship's websites are no long accessible...wondering if there is an official move away from individual sites and onto the FB instead? Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on?

My son is also on the Lassen. So far, all of our communication has been on Facebook and Skype. I would love to get an address for correspondence also.

Looking for help. Our son is serving in the USS Lassen and we're wondering if the address we were given for him was incorrect. Does anyone out there have the correct address for the Lassen? (He is currently not in the barracks, but stationed on the ship). Thanks for any help!
