for those that have never the chance to tour a Nimitz-class carrier, you must do it! You stand on the flight deck and realize it's 4.5 acres and 1100 feet long and 260 feet wide and you see just how big it really is......

Wow, that pic really does put it in perspective. That ship is HUGE!

Garrett said he just took his advancement test, trying again for his e-5. He thought he did pretty well, but not sure, hoping the good conduct medal, EAWS wings, and good eval with Squadon Sailor of the month will get him across the goal line this time! He says there are alot more in HS vs HSC so it will be much harder to advance. Cora is right, it does matter how many are in your rate. Here is to all our sailors making it through!

We got an email from Mike as well. He is taking his test too but knows that there are too many people in front of him taking theirs for the 3rd and 4th time so he doesn't feel they will let him move ahead. Learning all about the "different" nuances of our Naval forces.

One of our sons is on the GW. Our other son once he completes C school in Lemoore, CA he heads to Yokuska. He will be on a F18 Squadron.
