Nick's Dad,
You son can get a non-ownership policy with USAA for 5.00 every 6 months. This will prevent him from having a break in coverage. And if he is young it is well worth the 5.00 every 6 month. 1-800-531-8722.

Since our son will be in Japan for a while we are selling his car and he will cancel his Auto insurance once it sells. Seems like I remember reading on one of these sites that he should keep a Policy in force so that when he does get another car there will not have been a lapse in coverage, and that these policies were avaible at nominal cost, Can anyone help ?

I would see if his 1ST class can help with the situation. Or till it is straight maybe he has a buddy that can receive and send emails for him.

Can anyone help or give me an idea of what I can do to rectify this situation? My son is aboard the USS GW CVN73 and has had a problem with his email for weeks and weeks. He is able to receive emails but he cannot send them out, therefore making it impossible to communicate with us unless they are in port. According to him, this can only be fixed when they are in port but his last correspondence told us that he is having a very hard time getting this taken care of. Obviously this is making our household very uneasy as he deserves the same right as others to be able to communicate with his family and loved ones. Your help and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Yeah its nice having skype to talk back and forth. Same for us pretty much except the net. She knew she was leaving for deployment pretty quickly so we tethered her cell phone as the modem for her laptop.
