Anyone know which ships left from the 7th fleet to help with the South Korean ship sinking?

Nice Mark! Great to hear appreciative words for sure! You should be proud of your son and what he is doing. We are all thankful.

It has been awhile since I have been on the site for various reasons, but I took the time today to upload some new photos! My son Kevin and the crew of the USS Tortuga were selected to participate in the 65th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima on February 25th. Kevin didn't get to attend the ceremony as he was pulling road guard duty, but afterwards he took some photos which he finally sent me.

hello to all my group friends, just wanted to let everyone know that my son jason and my daughter inlaw yuki and my grandkids shaun, brian, and hina are finally coming home for a few weeks. My wife lynda and I haven't seen jason for 5 years and haven't seen yuki and shaun for 9 years. And we've never been face to face with our other 2 grandchildren brian and hina. We very excited because jason has spent his whole navy career after A school in Japan and that's going on 13 years. Well I'll sign off for now and sorry about going on so much, I would like to say to all our sailors and marines thanks for serving our great country. chuck madott

Recently learned that our son Nick is being deployed to Japan. That was #1 on his wish list. He's lived in Tokyo previously, as a civilian, and is looking forward to going back.

My son leaves today (Friday in Japan) from Atsugi Navy Air Station for the Air force base in Okinawa to complete his combat SAR qual over the next 3 weeks. Not sure what to expect for him there, but I hope he does well.

My son is stationed at Yokosuka and has enjoyed it. We are planning to travel over there in August, any advice and/or suggestions?
