Well our son graduated from "A" school and is now in Lemoore, CA. Another culture shock being out in the middle of nowhere. He calls it the arm pit of
H--L. Now I get to get his truck ready to send out to him so he can go places since the base is so large and spread out.

Hi to all Maryland Dads just a reminder that the Blue Angels will be part of the Academey Graduation week as they do every year. If you have never seen their show and you can make it GOOOOOOOOOOOO it is awesome. I have gone the last five years. go early as the crowd is huge. I sit on a grassy knoll beside the Navy baseball field over looking water

MarkM congratulations on your son becoming a sailor! I understand your headed for GL for the graduation, you'll have a ball the ceremony is awsome! Take your camera and bring back some pictures. When we went last year we stayed at the Ramada Inn and ran back and forth to the base. Get there early, it's a long line getting in! Again Congrat's!

Had a great time welcoming 310 troops home at BWI Airport this evening. I would highly recommend it!

Well folks, this is Mark's wife. I just called Operation Welcome Home and they have changes to the schedule. They are asking folks to be there at 12:45, which is now. Or, they want folks there at 6:30 pm. I think we are going to go at 6:30. So, if you want to join us, look for the short, chubby lady in the red sweater. Sorry for the confusion.

Mike, I did 4 years active and 7 reserve. I kick myself all the time for not doing the 20. As I get older, that pension sure would come in handy.

This is a blog by a sailor retiring after 20 years. This post is about his Boot Camp experience. Such as the Master At Arms who was a sleep walker, and conducted midnight inspections while asleep. Opened up lockers. Remember where the lockers are?

How long did you stay in Mark? I have the feeling if my son likes it as much as he does now, he might make a career of it. He's started so young that he'd be able to retire before he turns 50. I hear also that they offer some big bonuses to re-up. Thats going to be hard for him to turn down.

Mike, the Navy was best the thing I ever did. I am so glad my son decided to do it. I visited 44, count 'em, 44 countries. I been to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Vatican/Sistine Chapel, Parthenon in Greece, Casino in Monte Carlo, just to name a few. Things most people only read about in books, I got to do because of the Navy. It is a great education and experience for them that will last a life time!
