Clemmis, going to pinning for Sean was one of the best things I ever got to be involved in, having been in Law Enforcement myself it was pretty moving.

My son Felix Menchaca is also scheduled to be in the graduating class on Dec 10th. He too said that the OC spray was terrible, but other than that everything is going fine. He did pick his duty station in Yorktown, VA

Has anyone gone to the grad and got a chance to do the pinning?

You are welcome. We found this sponsor info to be very helpful even after our son left for assigment.make sure she gets you a copy of it because it will have her new address on it for packages of goodies.

Hello Clemmis,When our son graduated from San Antonio this past April he flew out that same weekend to norfolk then on out to his final destination at Diego garcia via what they call the Eastern route. It would seem to me with final duty station being Guam your daughter will probably go the western route through San Diegoand on out that way.If she has had her contact withher sponsor on Guam they will send her all the info she needs as far as flight plan and who to contact etc... Her flight info out of San Antonio will be given to her their at the NTC at Lackland.Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information.
Shane, Sarah was told that there were not female billets open for training at this time and she would need to apply at her first duty station(Guam).
Chris - where can I find contact information for the Navy training office? Congrats on Geoffrey's orders...I am sure he is on point but just to pass on a note from Sarah who is a week ahead and will grad on 12/03; Remind him to really focus next week when they have 6 test in 4-5 days. Sarah stated that they are not difficult but 7 of her classmates failed the first because they started to get lazy on study habits. The sailors that were 1st and 2nd were among the 7. They all passed the second try.

Ralph - not sure about holiday liberty, but my guess is he won't get much, if any.

Clemmis - once your daughter gets her orders, you should be able to figure out the flights. But you can't do anything until she gets her orders. It will have the day/time that she needs to report for her transport to Guam. You may have to pay the difference in airfare between what the Navy arranges and what you end up arranging. There are others on this site who have sailors in Guam. From what I read, it seems like pretty good duty.

Not sure about the flight but is she going to MSF in Guam?
