Jim, I'll be there at Kris pinning ceremony god willing I've put in for vacation already. Thanks for the information about weekend liberty I will let him know. My niece and her family just moved to Austen so he will have family close ( hour & half away) that he can visit with down there in Texas. Chris, Sorry about your dog passing, My dog also passed away while I was in Navy and I felt sad when told but it seemed easier on me somehow because I was there at the time. Death it's a part life that we all have to deal with you need to tell him,he will deal with it in his own way.

Yeah, the pinning was pretty cool, I did not make the PIR but would not have missed the pinning for the world. Jim, how often have you been hearing from Chris? Sean called about two weeks ago and said they had gotten back to Bahrain and would call in a couple of days again and have not heard a peep from him since then, I am assuming that they got called right back to sea on the ship he has been on.

Elbert - it's great that you heard from your son and that he made it through OC (some don't and get sent back a week). I really hope you get to make the pinning ceremony. When I went to my son's, there were only a few families who attended. But, it was so cool because I got to pin his badge on him. Also, Kris should be able to get weekend liberty after about week 3 or 4.

Chris, I think we had the date by the end of the first week or beginning of the 2nd. You kind of have to REMIND him to find out for you!

Jim & Chris, Talked to Kris today and he said what he would go in the boot camp tear gas chamber everyday in "A" school then get OC in the face again, he got OC strayed Monday and his eye still hurt. So I know you son Chris isn't looking forward to getting it again : ) Kris also said he is in a class of 27 MAA. He said they have been going in to building securing them. He just got his phone and the service at Lackland AFB is not very good I had a hard time hearing him. He doesn't get any liberty off base while in MAA "A" school. No pic's yet

Chris,
My son had around 30. Judging by what we saw when we went down in June for the pinning, it looked like most classes were about the same size, give or take.

Ah yes, the OC treatment. Hopefully he'll get some pics to send you. Does Kris know what he'll be doing after A School yet?

Chris is doing great. He took the advancement test last month and is awaiting the results. He and his dog (Cyril) are working hard. Lots of cargo ship searches, vehicle searches, that kind of thing. He and Cyril actually detected something (probably shoudn't get too specific here) and had to call in the B-squad. It was a first for him - tells me it was a huge adrenalin rush.
