Hi, Elbert...Lackland AFB is the only MAA school that I know of. My son graduated from there last Feb and is now stationed here in the WA area and really likes it. Congrats on the PIR! It's a blast and the pinning is awesome too. Be warned, one of the first things they do in MAA training is the OC spray. My son said he'd rather get kicked in the stones once a day for a decade than to have that happen again! No fun!

While in the Navy I attended the Respiratory therapist program that was based at Fort Sam but I had several rotations at Lackland. There is a significant amount of cross service training in San Antonio. It's a great town and the guys/girls should have fun on the weekends they have liberty.

Thanks Lawrence, Yes I think It's Lackland ,USAF base that does the MAA Training. The last letter I received said he was going to graduate PIR October 1.

We initially booked flights and our Hotel for the 8th due to cheap fares on Southwest and the at MEPS they confirmed a PIR of 10/08. Sarah needed her physician contact information so they allowed her a call during week 1 and at that time she told me she would PIR on 10/01 and later that week we were able to confirm the PIR.

As far as I know, only 1 MAA school, USAF base at San Antonio. I'm already booked for my daughter's 10/08 PIR.

My son Kris will Graduate PIR on 10/1, It look like he will get a week leave after basic if 10/1 and 10/8 basic Graduates are going to be in the same MAA class. Does any one know how many MAA school locations there are or San Antonio,Texas the only MAA school? I've alright got a hotel booked in north Chicago for his 10/1 PIR.

Mr. Powell, My daughter, Sarah will PIR on 10/01 and then to MA school as well. I understand 10/01 and 10/08 PIR will be in the same MA class. I just received my first letter yesterday and she has been in BC since 8/9. She has always wanted to be seen as tough(she has 5 brothers) and I think she is enjoying some of the challenges.

I did not get to go to my son's PIR, did go to the pinning (meant a lot to me as I am in Law Enforcement). I thought that was pretty cool going to the pinning you also get a chance to purchase one of the MA challenge coins which I still carry with me everyday.

Went to MEPs, going to PIR, going to pin. Have to be there to support all the way. She wants MWD. Hope that works out for her

Chris - your sailor will know the pinning date shortly after he begins A school - within a couple of weeks. I went to my son's pinning, but not many parents did. I was so glad I went, because I was the one who got to pin his badge on him. It was that day that I realized my son was no longer a boy, but a man. Very cool.
