Yes, we are going for PIR, want to get my reservations soon. Looks below that Chris has his K9, is that something that is possible to new MAs or is that mostly for 2nd enlistment?

Hey Jim:

Good for Chris, Sean is headed up to Dubai for a month said something about "special duty" of some sort. Has been having a ball. Is Chris going to be testing for E4 soon ? Sean said he was in Sept.

Hi Lawrence - as Shane says, most of the communication from boot camp is via letters. The recruits get to write letters on Sundays, so you'll likely receive your first letter in a few days. I remember that I would look forward to it every week. I think I only actually spoke to Chris twice, each time for just a few minutes. Are you planning to attend pass-in-review (graduation)?

Shane - Sounds like MASN Sean Snyder is doing great! Chris certified with his dog last week and is now ready, able, and willing to go on missions. He was pretty pumped when I spoke with him a few days ago. He also told me that he's doing a demo for a "3-star" (Admiral, I guess) sometime this week.

I want to say it was probably the 3rd or 4th week before I heard from our son when he went to boot. Then letters started coming pretty regulary (about weekly). I got the mailing info from the recuriter after he was there. Phone calls were kind of slim until they were towards the end of training. it's a lot better when they get to "A" school.

Yes, she is. Something I read said that I would have gotten her division and ship assignment with her box, but I did not. Also read that I could contact her recruiter and get that info, I'll try that tomorrow. I would like to send her some stamps, envelopes and stuff, forgot to give her a calling card too. Don't know how long before I get her initial letter giving me that information.

Hey Lawrence

yeah it's a long old haul, Is your daughter going to MA school after "boot" ? I know that Sean is having a blast in Bahrain said it was probably the best thing he has ever done.

Guess it's my turn, my "Little Girl" left for Boot last Tuesday. Received her box of not allowed items yesterday. Now I can sit back and wait... "Are we there yet??"

Actually skyped him for quite a while yesterday he is doing pretty good has a couple of more weeks on this deployment and then has some down time. He really likes being at Sea although he said he hopes on the next deployment he is on a bigger ship.
