Congratulations, Revell!!! My daughter, MA3 Kasea Steele, is on that base. She is in PRP/Harbor Patrol.

Her and her husband were renting an apartment in Silverdale (a better neighborhood). It was pretty nice. A lot of military there. They got tired of the apartment thing and decided to rent a house. Same price, and better for them.

She's a nice person, but she doesn't take crap from anyone. She's even backed down Marines. But if you're a hard worker, want to be a good sailor, and ready & willing to do your job, you should get along with her just fine.

She's also a cyclist and rides for the U.S. Military Endurance Sport Team.

At any rate, good luck at Kitsap.

Our MA Revell Patterson will be finishing his MWD training a week from tomorrow at Lackland and then headed to Kitsap/Bangor in Washington. Base is at 98% housing capacity so he has to find a place to rent off base...and then buy a vehicle to get to base....good times!!! He loves working with those dogs though.

Colin just completed the Riverine Combat Skill Course at Camp Lejeune!

Next up the Riverine Crewman Course, where he'll learn to drive the boats. 49 more days at Camp Lejeune.

I stayed at the Air Force Lodge. Other than having to share a shower and toilet with someone, it was very nice. I think I paid around $68 a night and also had a refrigerator. I was also right by the graduation building. It was definitely better than the rat trap we stayed in for PIR. And it had really good reviews. The Air Force Lodge was clean and well cared for. There's a laundry room and small snack store, too. I would definitely recommend it. Google Air Force Lodge Lackland. I think there's 3 of them on base.

One thing that threw me was that my daughter couldn't ride with me in the car until after graduation. She met me at the gate office, then met me at the lodge. After graduation, we went with a couple of her friends to the River Walk. We had a very nice time. Totally worth it!
