Hey, Shane...Justin is doing real good. He might be assigned to office duty for a while and off the water but I'm not sure he's much interested in that. I think he likes being on the water but it's a long, long day and it's for 7 straight days, then 4 days off. Office duty is more reasonable and he'd have every weekend off but he's not much for pushing paper. Hope you get to hear from Sean more often and soon. One day at a time, huh? It's a long haul for sure.

Hey Stephen welcome. When are you headed over?

Hey all !

Talked to Sean today, his group made it back to Bahrain said they are still "officially" on mission for another couple of weeks but are back in port and can go back to the barracks for a couple of hours a day and should be "off" by the first of Sept and then will have some down time. Said it's been pretty boring and HOT HOT. said he does like being out on ships however.

Hey Terry, How is you son doing? Sean has been deployed now for a couple of weeks other then just a quick facebook update have not heard from him. His sister got a quick email from him this morning said they should be back in Dubi later this week and hopefully have computer access and should be back in Bahrain by next month. Man it's going to be a long 2 years.

Shane, your first statement was right on. Even when they are on duty there's not much going on and it gets rather boring, at least that what my son says. He still likes it but would rather have something with a little more variety. I guess that comes later!

I think the biggest problem over there is when your not doing anything it gets kind of boring. I think that is so cool he is going to be a dog handler I hope he really enjoys it. Have not heard from sean for a couple of days now, So I suspect he may be on the sub he has not even updated his facebook so he is out of communications for a bit.

I'm so glad for Skype. It makes being so far away somewhat more bearable. Chris likes it over there I think. It's only been a couple of weeks so he's still adjusting. More than anything he's looking forward to getting his dog and getting down to business.

Not really sure exactly where Sean is or what he is on. I know that he was supposed to go out on his first mission was a sub. then he went to the platforms etc. Believe me he could just as easy be on a Sub and quite frankly I would almost expect Chris to truely know more about his whereabouts then I do. I think there is somewhat of a not really telling anyone where they really are (which I would expect it to be.) Isn't Skype wonderfull? So how does Chris like it over there? I know Sean likes being a Sea which kind of surprised me.

Well - I guess that shows me how much Chris knows. I'm glad you heard from him, Shane. Chris was expecting to be matched with his dog any day. Once that's done, he'll have about 4 months of certifications and training before his first deployment. He's just now getting settled in, getting through indoc, etc.

well unless he went out on one today, I am not sure that is where he is I skyped him yesterday for quite a while and he was still on the boat that had been up on the oil platforms and that was were he thought he was headed out either today or tomorrow. not to say there was not a change in plans. So is Chris pretty much stuck on base protection?
