Thats great about him coming home for a few, that's really odd about the dogs I know that usually at least in police work the officer stays with the dog he trains with and most of the time they retire the dog with the officer leaves the K9 unit. Sean said it usually takes a week or so to get the internet stuff set up etc sounds like they are working a 4 day work week with 3 off.

Shane - he has a Blackberry now. Glad to know he'll have internet access once he's there. Chris is coming home during leave. He'll be here in Seattle for a few days, then we're flying down to SoCal for a quick visit with his grandparents. He doesn't take the dog he's been training with. He gets matched up with one once he gets there.

Jim-What is Chris using for a cell now? Sean had a Iphone he could skype from it, so what he has done is use his Iphone during the trip so he could call and let me know where he was at. As soon as he got to Bahrain he bought a prepaid cell phone (no At&T over there) and that is what he calls on. He had to request wireless network for his room and said he should get it by the end of next week then he can email and skype etc. Is Chris coming home for the week of leave? Also does he take the dog he has been training with? we used to do a lot of protection dog work etc have imported some from Germany.

Welcome aboard Tim!!

Hey Shane - does Sean have a cell phone over there? Does he have internet access? Spoke to Chris this morning. He's done with MWD in two weeks, has one week of leave, then he'll join Sean in Bahrain. He's really excited to get over there.

Just talked to Sean he called from Bahrain said it was very very hot but he really liked it, had to laugh as he and his friends were eating at A&W root beer (nothing like eating local food) anyway said that it was a pretty interesting place. spent most of the week do some training and learning about the country etc

New dad here to the Master at Arms. I have a son that is an ET with 2 years under his belt in the US Navy. My youngest son just went this past Thursday and took his ASVAB test and has wanted to be an MA since we went to his brothers PIR and saw the MA's at RTC. I am sure I will have hundreds of questions.
