Talked to him late yesterday afternoon, said it was about 3 am and very very hot, Will be starting missions on Monday and had also indicated he may be doing some sort of Sub duty which he really sounded excited about. I know what you mean about not seeing them for awhile I think Sean was saying that the duty will be like two years. I am assuming that he will come home at some point for leave.

It's a pretty exciting time for our sons. But, holy smokes I'm sure going to miss my son. Can't imagine not seeing him for a year or more...

Shane, glad you got to talk to him before he left. My son too is really interested in going to Spain and then into the Mediterranean area. You're right, the adventure begins!

well Sean headed off for the Middle East today, got a phone call from him about a hour ago, he had landed in Virgina and would be headed to Spain tonight sounded pretty good and excited-guess the adventure begins.

We had a blast at the pinning ceremony and it's well worth the trip. It is very informal and some of the instructors actually go out of their way to raz the grads to make them laugh while you're there. It's really cool when the officers have all the family members up on stage facing the grads standing at their seats while they take their oath.

Shane - I spoke to Chris this morning. He's doing great - loves being in the military working dog program. Three more weeks of training. Ships out to Bahrain around the end of July. He's looking forward to seeing Sean again, said they got to be pretty good buddies while in MA training. It's good to know he'll have a friend when he gets over there.

Jim-How is Chris doing? I know that when Sean was home for Memorial Weekend he was saying how he was looking forward to seeing him.

Mike - like Shane says, it's pretty informal and definitely worth it to get your pass the day before if you can. Your sailor just needs to turn your names in to his command. Remember to NOT go to the main gate, where all the families go for the Air Force boot camp graduation. Go to the smaller gate across the street from the Main gate

it was pretty informal I think when we went there was about 25 or so family members. In our case he went to San Antonio a couple of days prior had our sailor meet us at the gate and got passes for the duration of our time there(so we could come and go) well worth the trip.
