Well got the call from Tony on his first morning at NAVSTA Norfolk. Just as I told him, he got up after getting in after midnight and took his first walk around. OH MY GOD! were the first words on the phone to me. Funny how 30 years ago almost to the month, I too uttered the same three words to my father. He has also been placed in the very newest of barracks and was quite happy as of a few hours ago.

Real happy to hear you all had a great time at the pinning ceremony. We thoroughly enjoyed it too. It was still kind of cold when we were there in Feb but had a great time downtown and just hanging out with our MA son. We are also so blessed because he is stationed right across the water (Hood Canal) from us at the Bangor Kitsap Sub Base and get to see him every weekend if we want. He finally told us last weekend how happy is now to be a "real" sailor and not some recruit or in orientation and he really loves his job on the patrol boats instead of being landside. Take care ALL!

Hey Kyle, have a safe trip and it is a ceremony you will not forget. Got a little misty eyed when I got to pin my son and give him my old MAA Badge.
