Kyle - I had the privilege of pinning my son last month. It's not formal at all. After the grads receive their badges, there is about a 10 minute break. You can pin your son's badge on him during that break. You'll pin it on his left side just below the pocket. I had one of his buddies take a few pictures with my camera. It's very cool -- you'll absolutely love it.

Kyle, sorry no help with the pinning, but a reminder for you to buy 1 or more MA Challenge Coins (shape of a shield) as i understand it this is only available at the school. I have one and it is a beauty.

Hello Scott and Dave, yes is amazing the amount of disorganization there at MA school at certain levels. Jon had what he thought was all of his orders when he left the Vinson in Feb. after they got back from Haiti releif but come to find out they forgot to include his plane tickets in his order package.According to Jon he is suppose to be set for flying out after Pinning but I think it will be the hurry up and wait routine. Come on April 30th. Have a great day guys....................

One week left for Tony's pinning! Finally. Can't wait to pin my old MAA Badge on him and of course I will "tack" in on the Old Navy Way. Also has "Temp" orders and no work on plane tickets etc. as of yesterday. Just asked to bring an extra seabag for packing and then hopefully he's off to Norfolk>

sounds like your boy is a lot farther long then Sean is in his career. I don't blame him for not wanting to send his stuff without orders. I was pretty amazed at how much disorganization there was at MA school.

Thanks Shane,Jon has had his orders since he got off the Vinson and he has spoken via e-mail with his sponsor on the island. He is just afraid to send his stuff off without definent orders. He just seems to be a little shook up over this,he is ready to get on to his next assignment.

Kyle, when my Son was done at MA school he did not get his "orders" until after graduation and then still did not get his travel itinary for another day or two. there was probably 10 or so who were stuck there until the travel stuff came through. In Seans case it was just a couple of days.
