Shane - Chris plans on taking a few more days of leave before heading out to the Fleet. He wants to visit family (especially his grand parents) in So Cal. San Diego would be a great trip. We're from So Cal and lived in SD for a couple of years.

Sean and I were talking about Chris last night, figured they would be done with their training just about the same time. Is Chris taking more leave after C school? Sean does not plan on having anymore leave before he goes. My wife and I may try to fly down to SD while Sean is there. I know what you mean Paul seems like yesterday that we were buying toys for Christmas at ToyRus seems like all of our kids have left the nest at the same time.

Can totally relate, Shane! Chris want back to Lackland for C School the other day. We get to see him one more time before he leaves for Bahrain. He said that he and Sean hope to travel around Europe while their over there. Wish I was going with them...

Terry speaks volumes here!! I know it sounds trite, but it literally seems like yesterday that I was flying to Great Lakes for my daughter's PIR....next week she completes her 5-year enlistment and leaves the Navy......the time goes by MUCH faster than you think!!

Shane, at first and for a while, it does seem like an eternity but you'll be amazed at how fast it will go. Keep busy and keep in touch with your son. It will mean a lot to him too and make sure to tell him how much we appreciate his service to our country.

Well just spent the evening with my Son, Sean had dinner and spent a little quite time with him. Seems that he was here long enough just to really start missing him again. He leaves tonight for Gulf Port and more training. It's going to be a long 2 years.

Kyle,

is your son going to be stationed in Norfolk, my sailor is there now

Does he already have his orders? You mentioned he was going to fly to Norfolk, or do you live there? My son was informed that he "may" go to Kings Bay or Washington State as he was PRP Qualified. Talked to him last night and he thinks they will know something for sure next week. He was starting the M16 on Monday this week. Did mention the tests however were coming and he was going to stay on Base one more weekend and study. He really wants Kings Bay as he was there with the Sea Cadets for 5 yrs in a row.

what a treat blowing the heck out of targets all you want.your son will be pinned a week before ours. according to jons orders he will be pinned on the 30th and then flying out on the 1st back to Norfolk but you know how the navy is it could all change tomorrow.I was looking forward to shaking your hand so i guess it will have to wait for another day...
