Thanks Tom for the info I will pass it on to Cam. And yes Todd times have changed. I remember when I went in I also had acne but had no problems getting in. Thanks to all who responded it definitely helps.
I was unaware of this...but here is the information regarding acne:
The causes for rejection for appointment, enlistment, and induction are:
a. Acne, severe, or when extensive involvement of the neck, shoulders, chest, or back would be aggravated by or interfere with the wearing of military equipment, and would not be amenable to treatment. Patients under treatment with isotretinoin (Accutane) are medically unacceptable until 8 weeks after completion of course of therapy
Sorry to hear that, Steven. They're really picky about cuts and open sores. I remember Kasea had to be so careful about getting any type of injury. The slightest cut could have delayed her. When I was in, they didn't care. Have times changed?!?
Thank you. And we haven't given up. He may have to put it off for a bit but he is determined to serve and God willing he will.
The problem is he can't even join up right now. Due to the acne they won't let him sign a contract to go to bootcamp.
Well apparently Riverines isn't an option anyways at this point. My son went to MEPS and was told he couldn't get in because of acne. He was told he may get a waiver but that was also denied. Is there anything else he can do? He is pretty bummed out right now.
Thanks I'll give him the information. I do appreciate everybody that has responded. This is the first place I've been able to get good information on this subject.
David is correct. It will be a matter of available orders towards the end of A School. He does not have to strike for a different rate. The higher his class rank in A School, the more choices he will have as to orders. he will want Expeditionary when the time comes. Best of luck to him!
Thank you very much. That helps a lot. I'll tell my son this information. Thanks again..
