Yes, it's a great day for both of us.  It meant a lot when he asked me to pin his badge on him for the first time wearing it.  MAA T-shirts with my name on them and a badge on the front.  I called and left you a voice mail to say hi.  How's Devin doing?  Did she finish her MWD training?  We're leaving at 4 AM so I won't get to hook up with you on this trip but lets keep in touch.  Scott got assigned to the USS George H.W. Bush Aircraft Carrier in Norfolk, VA.

That is awesome Mike!! It is a great day isn't it? I am sorry that I haven't gotten back to Lackland to meet Scott. Where is he getting stationed?

My son officially became a Master At Arms today and I got to pin his badge on him for the first time.  I'm so proud of him.....

Leave is accumulated at the rate of 2.5 days per month.  He has to submit a leave chit to request leave which has to be approved by command and fit into the needs of the Navy.  And there is a special provision until 2015 that allows a sailor to carry over up to 75 days of leave.  Understand the frustration....I recall not seeing my daughter for more than 2 years between cruise and my job demands a few years ago......

Mike Bennett - Have you heard much from Scott lately? I haven't been back to Lackland yet, but I will let you know when I do!

Welcome to the group Eric!!!

Jon pretty much covered it. If you are going up for the PIR = Pass in Review, you should really go to Sarge's Meet n Greet like Jon said! It is well worth the effort and you get a lot of great info. Get there early to get a good seat.

You mentioned that he will be going to San Antonio after Bootcamp. I am guessing that he will be a Master at Arms? If so welcome to the club. We can help you with that too. Jon gave some really good advice on that also. Tell your son to keep his nose down and work hard while there. It will pay off for him if he does!
