Raffaele ~ Congratulations to your son on his promotion to MA2!
Joelle left this a.m. for Norfolk and then headed to Greece from there. Hard to let go but with so many prayers having already been answered, I know my Father has her in His hands.
Congratulations to your Son on a job well done!
I was told by y son today he has been promoted to MA2. I couldnt be prouder.
Nick - Sorry I didn't answer sooner. I personally don't know anything about Atsugi Japan. I just don't want you thinking we were ignoring you. I have had a crazy couple of weeks and have not been on much! Japan should be a great station though. BZ to your son!
Mike - Did you love PIR?? He will have a good time in A school...except for OC Spray day. No Bueno! Tell him to use the pain to his advantage and focus on the objectives. I told Devin to keep an eye out for him, but if she hasn't seen him by now she probably won't. Once she starts MWD training tomorrow she won't be allowed to associate with any of the MA students.
MA graduation is very cool. You will enjoy that also. Let me know when you are coming for that and we can probably meet up! I am only 1 1/2 hours away in Austin.
My son arrived at San Anotonio today (5-8-13) to start his MA training. I was able to give him his cell phone at the airport so now we can communicate a lot more. It won't be so bad missing him as much. Looking forward to going to his "A" school graduation in 7 or 8 weeks.
Just found out my son got his orders today. He will be headed to NAS Atsugi Japan after A school in Lackland. Anyone have info on Atsugi?
That last month of Bootcamp is really hard on both sides. Devin wasn't able to call us during that time and we got very few letters. That's part of what makes PIR so emotional. You are so proud of them and they still look at you like...what are you getting so worked up about. lol That is your affirmation of a parenting job well done...So a big BZ to you!
You won't find support like this any where else!
Michael: Yes, it was the best call to receive. I was anxiously waiting for it. We talked for a long time and he sounds releived that basic is over. Now all they have to do is practice for the PIR ceremony. I know what you mean about hoping you did a good job as a parent. I think it shows that we did by how much we care about them now as they start their own life and career. It has been so good having others dads to go through this together. Looking forward to the next chapter and my new friends on Navy Dads. OO-Rah!
Mike...Congrats on getting the call...what a great feeling....but just wait until next week...LOL!
Tom - We were trying real hard not to show how proud we are of what the girls have accomplished.
Jon - I am very proud of what both of our girls have accomplished. They both worked so hard and and surprised themselves with what they are capable of doing! It's so funny that they are truly good friends now and didn't really know each other that well in Bootcamp, when we were talking!
Mike - Isn't that one of the best phone calls and feelings you ever had??? You always hope that you do a good job as a parent. It's a slippery slope at best, but you keep doing the right thing by them and this is the reward!! Like Jon and Tom said Encourage Scott to really press himself over the following 7 weeks. It is intense but the hard work will really pay off!!
