Mike...get there early as you will want to sit in front of your Son's Division. The lower seats fill up quickly. Don't forget to download your Parking Pass if you are planning on driving....Enjoy every moment!

Hey Mike...Quick note on PIR. There is a very popular Meet n Greet the night before. It is conducted by "Sarge". He has a lot of very useful info. We are extremely glad that we went to it. We did have to get there early the next morning but it was worth it after seeing how many people go to this. We got great seats and an awesome parking spot.

I can find the link if you are interested.

I suggest you consider a taxi/shuttle.....the car lines can move along really good and the lines can be horrendous.  Now, we do have a shortcut posted on the site: click this link

I have not taken it, but I hear it can be a great way to by-pass tons of traffic.  Regardless, try to make it to Sarge's meet and greet Thursday - he has tons of tips as well: click this link

Thanks for the info Paul but I was wondering what the traffic is like getting into the base.  My hotel is 20 minutes away and I didn't know what was the best way to get there or how long it would take.

6:30 am: RTC gate opens to guests.
7:00 am: Ceremonial drill hall doors open to guests.
8:45 am: All guests must be seated. Ceremonial drill hall doors close, no further entry for guests.

The drill hall can fill up fast if there are a lot of divisions graduating.  The lines move along pretty well though---- have photo ID ready.  And NO....RTC is a closed base and you can only go to the drill hall for PIR and NEX/MCPON hall after PIR.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get in to PIR?  I want to make sure I get there in time but don;t want to sit there for 2 hours waiting for it to start.  Is there anything to do on the base before it starts?  I'm going there Fridday, May 17, 2013.

Tom, Congrats to Caity.  Although I don't know what an ESWS pin is or MA3 (SW) Lepak yet.....LOL  My son Scott's PIR is next Friday.  I cant wait to see him.  I'm so proud.  He will be an E3 when he gets out of boot because he has a BA in Criminal Justice.  Heading to San Antonio, TX next.
