Thanks Ray!! I will pass that on to her. She is proud of her accomplishments, as am I!

Tom - Our thoughts are with everyone there. What a horrible tragedy to deal with. I have been loving all the positive stories coming to light though!! Glad to hear that Caitlin will be stateside. Will be able to see her?

Hi, new to this site. Son Nick is in San Antonio going on two weeks now this Sat. He seems to like it pretty well down there. We being from Ga., at least the weather is more a tune to what he is used to compared to The Great Lakes. His MA class started Monday. He signed-up for the PRP program, so we should hopefully know something on that as well maybe as to his duty station by this coming Monday. It's a joy going through this with him, since I was in the Navy over 30 years ago. Brings back a lot from riding the high seas back in the day that's for sure.

Hey Jeff, two weeks later I'm finally getting around to asking how you enjoyed the game at Yankee Stadium! I'm just sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up, but that night I had a couple of incidents that occupied most of my night...I don't understand how folks can get so likkered up on such cold evenings, it sure doesn't make you feel warmer long term!

Congratulations Michael. MWD handler is a tough gig to land Bravo Zulu to Devin.
Tom, we here in New Yawk are praying and thinking of everybody up in the Cradle of Democracy. Did you see/hear the Yankees' blasting SWEET CAROLINE on Tuesday night? There were lots of folks (me included, even while I was working) who sang along in full throat. Still don't know how a song by the Brooklyn-born Neil Diamond has come to be a tradition at Fenway!

My son Chris is in week 2 of his training down in Gulfport before he joins up with Rivron 2. Everything seems to be going well, and he likes it down there more than Norfolk! Though the knucklehead admitted to me while driving down that he was feeling homesick...primarily for his buddies.

Hey Michael....Congrats to Devin! We are still reeling here in Boston from Monday's tragedy, but people are really pulling together to recover! I found out yesterday that Caitlin will be back in the States earlier than expected...so at least some good news!

Hi Guys!

I have really busy of late. so much going on. I hope everyone has been doing well!

I have an update on my kiddo: Devin qualified for one of the 2 MWD spots. I am very proud of her! A little nervous that she will probably be going to Afghanistan, but confident that she will do well. She is a little sad to give up her Sicily orders, but is thrilled she got what she was trying for. She also got Sharpshooter in both Handgun and Rifle. She has only fired a handgun twice in her life before going in!

Jon, I am very proud of Joelle doing so well and going to Greece. She is going to have so many great experiences there!!

How are things going with you Tom??

Hello and Greetings Michael! Great name by the way. My daughter is finishing up MA school at this time and loving it.

As to your questions: Graduation is on a Friday. As soon as Graduation is concluded they will announce Liberty. He will be free to  spend the rest of the day with you, once his Div leaders release him that is. I highly recommend that you go to the "Meet and Greet", held by a man named Sarge! He gives out a lot of useful information. This takes place on Thursday night. Your son will be able to hang out with you until about 7pm. You will want to have him back by then to beat the traffic. He will more than likely be heading to the airport early the next morning to fly out to San Antonio. MA school is roughly 2 months long. My daughter Graduated Bootcamp on March 15th and is going to graduate MA school on May 10th.

If there is any specialized training that they qualify for, such as MWD = Military working Dogs etc.. they will continue on with that. If they do not qualify or do not volunteer for any special duty they will then go to their Assigned base. special note - The better he does in MA school, the better his chances of getting the special duty or base that he desires.

Off to work now...Enjoy this time it is very special for both of you!

Michael
