Michael,  Welcome to the group.  My son graduated with Jay's daughter from MA school. He was slated for SAR up to the day before graduation, then had to switch to MA.  Remind your daughter to study hard because the higher she finishes the better chance she will have for picking her assingment.  My son finished 4th and chose Okinawa.  He's having a blast, loves the place.  Don't miss the PIR, its the most moving thing you will ever see. There were over 1100 recruits that graduated with our kids.

Hi Jay and thanks...It has been going by pretty quickly so far. Her mother and I are going to drive up for graduation. We wouldn't miss it!

She did a lot of research and prep before Bootcamp. We raised her with a great work ethic. She was very excited to be going in. I was Air Force and my father was Navy. So she wanted to keep that tradition of proudly serving and protecting the U.S.

Congrats to your daughter. I bet she is loving Spain!

Kevin Sr. Tell your son "thank you for your service" from this former swabbie. tell him to enjoy life on the outside. Right now my daughter is planning on making the Navy a career.

Keep dropping by to see how everybody else is doing since we all are part of a large family.

Michael Baione, welcome to the group, your daughters PIR will be here before you know it. Go to it if you can, its a once in a lifetime affair. Hopefully your daughter will get what she wants at A school. Tell her to study hard there and it will have its rewards. My daughter graduated A school  7Dec and is now posted to Rota Spain.

Congratulations Kevin Sr! And thanks to your son for his service. My son Chris is in Norfolk at the present, and he will be heading to Bahrain in the summer.

Remember you will always be a member of this family, and the wider Navy family. Bravo Zulu Beckers!

Hello All,

My daughter is 4 weeks into Basic right now, but will be reporting to Lackland on March 18th for school. Her goal is to specialize with K-9's.

Thanks

Michael

Well guys its time to say goodbye, I have checked in occasionally but not posted in sometime. After 4 years our son Kevin will be leaving the Navy. He currently is in Va. Going through the separation process, he will be honorably discharged 2/28/13. It has been a great journey though not easy by any means. We spent 4 years worrying about him in Bahrain and Greece, now worrying about adapting to civilian life. This forum has been huge in the support dept. if not for this forum we would have gone crazy especially in the beginning. Good luck to all of you and your sailors!
Thanks,
Kevin Sr
