When my (grandson) sailor as a youngster visted his Pop he used to wear my white blouse with a AD-3 crow on it ... On day he understood if he could get 2 stripes he would be my boss, Alas he had a goal!!! well with his recent promotion to MA-2 ... Goal Achieved.. I might add that Nana and Pop are as proud as we can be.

Finally was able to read my son's achievement medal discourse, we are so proud of him. " professional achievement in the superior performance of his duties as security patrolman , naval base Ventura county , San Nicolas island from march 2012 to march 4 2012. Petty officer salinas performed his demanding duty in an exemplary and highly professional manner. His dynamic leadership, superb situational awareness and technical ...expertise were essential to the success of an anti-trafficking operation which resulted in the the safe arrest and detainment of three tresspasers and the seizure of over 2000 pounds of Marijuana with a street Value estimated at 9 million dollars. He effectively mantained security onboard San Nicolas island by properly manning and standing watch in two seperate building locations and providing proper surveillance of a 22 sq mile island during a 16 hour shift. Petty officer Salinas exceptional professionalism , unrelenting perseverance and loyal devotion to duty reflected credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."
