Hello all, I am brand new to this site. My son just graduated BC on 11/21/2012. He arrived (Friday 11/23/2012) at MA school in TX. Can someone tell me if the first couple of weeks is like BC or a bit more relaxed? He was told in BC that he was not allowed to take "Tech" (cellphone) with him to A-school- his RDC's told him for two weeks. I've not heard from him yet, so I was just wondering if I should I expect not to hear from him for a period of time? I am not sure if he is starting right away or they are waiting for a class to start. I appreciate any information you can share to help set my expectations. Thanks in advance.
Jeff R. Glad to here about good turkey day. Is Jason interested in spec ops. If he is definately good luck to him on getting in.
Jay. Had a great thanksgiving. Can not wait for him to come home. I met the chief for spec ops in san Diego. Trying to set up a meeting for Jason just to talk about options. He was not too embarrassed amber wished him happy birthday and a few heard it then it spread like a fire. He had a good day
I hope everybody had as good a Thanksgiving Day as i did. Time to start the countdown. My baby girl should be home on leave in a couple of weeks after graduating from MA school.
Jeff R. I hope Amber didn't embaress Jason to bad when everybody sang Happy Birthday to him after Amber wished him a Happy Birthday.
My daughter is now officially MA3! Well done my girl!
I agree, 3 weeks and counting. We feel we got short changed at PIR because he was promised Saturday so we rescheduled our flight home to be with him only to get a few hours. Last I heard he will be here around the 9th, not sure what airport, we have 4 to choose from. I hope they get leave and can hop a MAC flight home once in awhile. I have looked at flights to Okinawa, $1500.00 per person so that's out of our budget.
Jeff R. 3 weeks if all goes well, we should get to finally see them again. Our short time after PIR just wasn't enough. Hopefully Amber will get to take two weeks annual leave before reporting to Spain. When she goes there, no telling how long till i will get to see her. Who knows, might just have to make a trip to Spain for vacation one year.
Jeff, don't let them work you to hard this week. Don't overdo it on turkey day like i probably will.
Jay, Thank you I will pass it on. We do have a care package on the way with lots of stuff to share. He just got his pass so he can wear civvies. He loves to roller skate, we sent his skates a few weeks ago and I think he is going out tonight. I need to do the same thing, get a new computer that has a web cam for skype. I tried it with my tablet and it will not work. Can not wait for him to come home.
Tell Jason Happy Birthday for me. Send him a bunch of homemade cookies. That was a big event when i was deployed to look forward to.
I agree on skype, just have to breakdown and buy a webcam for the old dinosaur desktop computer, then download skype.
Has Jason taken the time to get out and enjoy the culture and scenery of San Antonio?
Jay, Just looking into it. Jason's birthday is Wednesday trying to get a package to him. I think skype will be the best option. We have some friends in Germany and that is how our kids talk.
