Hey Jeff, talked to Amber today. Sounds like they are going to have a hectic week this week. Maybe they will stay so busy that Amber won't have time to get nervous before her interview Wednesday for Military Working Dogs.
Is your son by chance a scuba diver. If he is he will have a great time diving around Okinawa. I didn't get to dive there but did in Hawaii and Philippine Islands when i was in the navy. If he isn't and is interested the morale and welfare program use to help pay for it.
Jay, Congratulations to your daughter Amber. I heard she placed 2nd out of 54. I heard she is going to Spain, what a great assignment. Jason placed 4th, not bad for a kid who did not even know what MA was a few weeks ago. He had planned on the Rescue Swimmer program and only found out he was headed to MA school the night before graduation. He is going to Okinawa, which is one of the places he wanted to go.
Jeff, i would agree the kids haven't done bad at all. Amber had experience shooting shotguns at a turkeyshoot, and shooting .22 rifles at the rifle range. Now i can aggrevate Amber.
Jay, Jason said he missed Expert by 4 points. Not sure what the total score is. He told me on the pre test he got 18 out of 18. Not to bad for a city boy shooting airsoft and nerf guns most of his life.
Jeff, good morning to you to. I figured he had the chance to put it over on Amber. She did want to make expert but only took it bad while she was shooting. It was a big difference from when i qualified in the Army( 2 years army reserve before 6 years navy active). I agree with his perspective, but a few points under expert is still darn good shooting. I would like to know what he did score just to pick on Amber
Good Morning Jay, Jason missed expert by a few points. He is taking it very well. His attitude was if it were ment to be he would have made it. He knows he did the best he could do. I guess they are half way thru training and get to pick orders next week. He now says "he would rather be a weak member on a strong team than a strong member on a weak team". They do grow up. Good luck to Amber
Jeff R., how did Jason due on M-16 Quals. Amber was upset(easily frustrated) she didn't make expert 157 out of 200. I bet Jason got her this time, she will have to take him on the exam this week. Maybe next week they will get there orders.
Jay, Jason said he was going to stop by and say hello. Not sure where he wants to go, MA was not his first choice. He was in the Air Rescue Swimmer program until Thursday before graduation on Friday. They changed his rating and gave him several options and he chose MA. I think he might be going for special forces. That will depend on how he places at graduation.
Jeff R. I definitely agree on good competition. Good to hear he did so well on the range. I'd say you taught him well.
Leo. Congratulations on 2 sons serving our great nation. My son Jason is 4th generation navy on my wife's side. His grand father and uncle graduated from the academy. He just completed his third week as well at MA school
