My daughter graduates Expeditionary Combat School on Friday and will be heading to Portsmouth, Va. for her first Duty Station! Luckily, we get a visit at home with her!
I am surprised that he will be there for all 4 years, usually there is a stateside portion of the first assignment. I wish him well, and appreciate his service to the country. I am sure you are as proud as all of us military parents are. Good Luck. This site is great for us "dads" to share some of the concerns for our sons and daughters.
he will be stationed at yokosuka seems4 yrs will be a long time right out o a school
John, There are 3 different Navy bases in Japan. My son is at the one furthest to the southern end of the island(Sasebo). He has been there just over a year and seems to like it.Last assignment was Bahrain and felt the population(outside the base) didn't particularly like Americans, unlike Japan where they are generally friendly.
my son just got his billit in a school he's going to japan anyone have an ma there
He's stationed at NavSta Norfolk. He likes being an MA cuz it's the most like being a Marine, which was his first choice until he finally listened to his mother's concerns. He may still switch over sometime down the road in his career. Expeditionary Combat School sounds very exciting.
Ray....Where is your Son stationed and how does he like being an MA? I'm curious as to what path he chose. My daughter is heading to a MSRON team in a couple of weeks after she finishes Expeditionary Combat School in Gulfport, Mi.
it's in the 50's here today an hour south of Great Lakes. :)
