Bob - congrats to your son. My son advanced to MA3 as well. He already has his sights on MA2!

It is a great day for me, my sailor called me and said he made MA-3.

My congradulations to all the sailors on the promotion list.

Hi El, sorry I've been away for a month, just taking care of some business biz. Don't forget Jeter is a Michigan product! And I loved watching Granderson play this year, although listening to John Sterling's voice piped over the gate speakers as he called him The Grandy Man was extremely annoying!

Tomorrow is the anniversary of dropping Chris off at the Recruiting Station in Yonkers, NY last year. I can't believe it's been a year. It was both excruciatingly slow and dizzyingly quick. We're driving down to Norfolk to spend pre-Thanksgiving with him this upcoming weekend. He spent the holidays in RTC last year, and he has to work the holidays this year too, which he's not too crazy about, but that's the job.

Ray, My son tell me the Navy has around 13 level of Top Secret Clearance's. I had a just a Secret Clearance as a Electrician's Mate. My Great Nephew got out a Communications Electrician PO3 a year ago, went back in with orders to Kuwait and a raise in rank to PO2.

I too would have been rooting for the Yankees if they had beat the Tigers. But not because I'm a Joe Girardi fan, I alway like the Yankees clean cut Baseball look and history. My Son play shortstop with the number 2 for his first 3 years of little league because he like Derek Jeter before becoming a pitcher. I also like Curtis Granderson and was sorry to see him traded. I wish I would have got to watch they play in the old Yankee Stadium. Thanks if I'm ever in NY City I will let you know and stop by your gate on my way to a high energy Yankees game. The Tigers Pitchers got to start throw junk to these Rangers they are a young team that swings their bat before they get plate   : ) Ya I'm a long time die heart Lions fan, this year they finally put a team together. My son when he worked at Dick's Sporting Goods sold Berry Sanders RB some lighting for his basketball back board and Football shoes to old Lions QB Kitna that a backup QB with Dallas now. I like Eli Manning He is Great Quarterback!

You bet I was. And even though the Yanks lost, it was a great game and a great series. I'm only really disappointed the Yankees cut my work season short.

I too am pulling for the Tigers now, cuz I have always been a big Jim Leyland fan. He looks and sounds like an old school manager, not like the perpetually jaw clenching Joe Girardi.

Big thrill last night, even though I'm a NY Giants fan: met Tony Romo at my post, and we chatted for about 10 minutes. Guy could not be nicer, and we of course spent most of the time talking about...golf!

You have to get out to the Stadium next season and drop by and visit.

Hey Ray, Were you at game 5 it been a good series. The Yankees are a great team but you can't win them all. GO TIGERS : )

The Gateway Lodge is just a few hundred yards away from the Hall where the MA badge ceremony is held. It will surely be clean...I don't know how loud the Sailors and AF recruits get while doing their drills!

Comment by Ashley on October 4, 2011 at 10:25pm

I actually already made reservations at the Gateway Lodge for a stay at the end of the month... just hoping it is clean and semi quiet! My husband is not sure if he will have phased up yet when I come so I thought it might make it easier if I stayed on base.
