I should add the Carefree Inn was a cleanly fleabaggy kind of a joint. The Gateway may be harder to get room in, due to the Air Force graduations and MA ceremonies. There are tons of great places to stay in downtown San Antonio, which is barely 15-20 minutes away from Lackland AFB.

The Gateway is on base, and seemed orderly from the outside when I passed it by. I stayed at the Carefree Inn right outside the gate, and was able to walk on the base, even though it was a looong walk to the hall for the ceremony.

A couple of my son's classmates went PRP, and they're at nuclear facilities. My son was disqualified at the time because of some problems with his knee, which still occasionally flares up. It is a higher security clearance for the sailor who takes it.

Hello, my sailor is at MA school right now.

Can anyone give me a review of the Gateway Lodge?

Also, does anyone have a sailor who has experience in PRP? We are curious as to what the lifestyle is like.

Thanks, the Seals I can deal with, at least it would be readily available!

BTW, my son contacted the admin at Naval Training Center, all is good!

Still, I am proud of my boy and ALL the great men and women serving in our great Navy.

And we know they're fairly persuasive...

Yeah, that makes sense, especially when you consider my son wouldn't even let me hold his orders when we were hanging out at O'Hare last January before his flight to San Antonio. The Navy seems pretty intensely protective of its documents...

I really don't know, but I bet not...it's an official government document and wouldn't think you could get a copy....that is not to say that Kinko's couldn't make a pretty good one.....

Hey Arnold, that's a good question! I never thought to ask that. I hope one of the Admins can help with that, cuz I think I would like to get that to include in a 'file' I am compiling on my MA!

My son is also currently in San Antonio at MA school. His PIR was 9/1. He is loving his experience there.

Question? How can I get a copy of my son's A school training (MA) certificate?
