Hey guys, had a great two weeks with my MWD handler at home! Lots of golf, softball, shooting, grilling, Hooters and Tilted Kilt. He arrived at his new duty station in Groton this morning. He was excited and ready to get back to business.

Hooyah Scott! Congratulations on his badge, and impending wedding. I give him credit, committing to two very demanding careers: MA and husband!

Jeff my son Kris ask and got to come back home for recruiter duty for one week after his MAA "A" school so he didn't have to use any of his leave up. Bill I hope Senna's surgery went well !

I would hope it's not due to the government's desultory and insulting languishing debate over the debt ceiling. I think orders are subject to change all the time. Chris put in for leave to join us on vacation from August 20th to the 27th, but then he was turned down, after being told it was okay to file the request. Sheesh, a kidney stone. I wonder how they discovered that? When I had my first stone, I rolled around the floor and cried. Do dogs exhibit behavior like that? My Shih Tzu never showed that...

Hello all, Ty will graduate from MWD a week from today and is supposed to come home for two weeks finally.  However, he told his mom last night that the class graduating today still does not have their orders.  My concern is although he knows his duty station is Groton, if he doesn't have his "orders" in hand by next tuesday he won't be able to come home.  Does this sound accurate?  Is this all part of the debt ceiling debate?  I remember when we had the potential government shut down in the Spring orders were not coming down on time.  Any suggestions or thoughts?

By the way, Chris wrote on Facebook that his base has had two power outages this past weekend or so, probably do to the amazing heat streak here on the East Coast. Doesn't a military base have its own emergency source of electricity?

Outside of dropping a 60 round clip overboard when his velcro malfunctioned, he's doing great! Who knew all those hours on Call of Duty could do this? I still have never shot off more than those clown mouth water pistols at the carnivals...although I have always been devestatingly accurate there...Chris is getting to do some piloting of the crafts, so that's cool for him too. The Tigers are on the rise, while I have trepidation about the Mariners coming into town carrying a 15 game losing streak. Work at the Stadium this week may be tougher if the Yanks lose any game(s) to Seattle...

Ahoy Ray, You can't shoot any better then that, expert 60 out of 60 gets a expert medal ! Chris must have a natural knack with firearms, glad to hear he is doing great. Kris got a marksman medal in basis,a sharp shooters medal in "A" school and a expert medal in Hawaii.I was a little shocked too but am very proud of him. We shot 500 rounds in my backyard when he come home after "A" school. ( Go Tigers ) they beat the Twins 3 out a 4 game away series. Look out Chicago White Sox you're their next victim : )
