That's the one. My son also achieved expert rating in his shooting qualifications on the 9 mm and M4. How the hell a kid from the Bronx, who never held a gun other than his cousin's NYPD sidearm sans bullets, achieved that still amazes me. But his instructor told me he was a beautiful blank slate and had no bad habits to UNlearn.

My son Chris said this looks like a coin you could buy, the one he received at A School was shaped like the shield itself, not round with the shield stamped on it. BTW, he was granted new quarters at Norfolk and he is no longer saddled with the slob nuke roomie. Plus, he seems to be more adjusted and settled.

re: MA coin, My sailor gave one to me when I visited him at jhis first duty station (Norflok Naval Station), It is a real Gem, if I remember correctly he said it was only available to sailors that graduated MA "A" school. I recently took a walk on the Naval Academy grounds, at

the entrance I showed it to a MA-3 at the entrance and got a big smile.

Scott, I don't remember about the coin, I'm going to ask Chris and relay the answer, unless there's someone out there who knows definitely.

I hope Southwest doesn't charge joy killing baggage fees! Have fun!

Haha Ray, yes I hope Southwest doesn't mind that I'm checking two sets of golf clubs!

Hey Jeff, are you bringing your golf spiked cowboy boots?...have fun in SA, although I see on Weather.com that the temperature is hardly temperate!

Scott,

MY MA is currently stationed at Ventura Naval Base (Port Hueneme). We just returned from spending a week on base with him. If you have any questions you can send me a PM. He also was told last week that he would be going back to SA to attend MWD school in August. All I can say "its the Navy".

Hello all, I'm headed to San Antonio for the weekend to see Ty.  He is still there for MWD till August.  He says I need to bring my cowboy boots as they have been frequenting a club called "Cowboys"...should be fun!  If anyone has an MA in SA that needs anything let me know.
