Actually I would not give him a lot...His cell and laptop/alarm clock are a musts; however, those first few weeks are overwhelming..Give him some time, then have him send you a list. They actually are limited on time for A school can be intense for they are still leaning and coming off an emotional high from boot...Also this a time they quickly learn self discipline. What they do not have they can find at the exchange. Too there is not much room in their lockers and weekly have room inspections.  Bottom line keep life simple and with due time (when they arrive at their prem duty station they will know what they really need and want), they will figure it...

I checked out FSH on line and it is very purple; with a tendency of Army Green. Son#2 is heading down at the end of April.  Son#1 A school was at GL so they have some stories to swap.

Don, Bravo Zulu to your SR. Our son is beginning his 4th. week. Hoping mom gets a phone call today, Mothers Day. Our SR is also heading for SA as an HM. We are curious, how much time did you get with your sailor after PIR and his flying out? Any other info would be appreciated as well. Thanks, Don
