Navy Underway Replenishments Past and Present
On 22 February 1943, USS Iowa (BB-61), the lead ship of the last class of American fast battleships, was commissioned. Decomissioned after serving in the Pacific during World War II, she was recommissioned in 1951 for service in the Korean War and was decommissioned again in 1958. In 1984, she was recommissioned and served until Oct 1990.

USS Fiske (DE-143). Broken in two and sinking in the Atlantic Ocean on 2 August 1944, after she was torpedoed by the German submarine U-804.
