Found out the award was for participation in recreational activites. They say it is an embarssment to the Captian of the ship. Mot some thing they brag about. Well if good sportmanship and meeting sailors from other countries is not important why do it. I read on RIMPAC 2010 It is very important to learn about other countries and their Navies. It is part of the exercise. So I think it is good that our Reagan sailors did what they were expected to do.

well just on other side of cleveland heading home and wht an emotional weekend it was second hardest thing to do in my life leaving my son agin but the difference in him was unbeliveable--the attitude responsiblility awareness politness concern moneywise his future planning more priorities than i can count from wht he ever began to think about when he was home he told us all he needed was a push he has to wait till wed to go to A school across the street then well get a new address for him he doesnt start classes till 24th of july hell be in A school for 33weeks thne to C school hopefully in VA for not sure how many weeks he already told us he reenlisting cause half his time now will be in school i can tell you all how proud i am of my son> He told us its now easy you have to try hard to succeed thru bootcamp even after they grad on sat night when we took him back some of the div were extremly loud at racks and got one hr taken away from there liberty and the whole div had to pay and be back early nat had duty anyway so but goes to show ya even after bootcamp yoou can get liberty taken from you -nat was extremly proud to wear his uniform every wer we went paying practicure detail to how he looked and everything is carried in his left hand they had to have there rain coat with them at all times and ther cover which is the hat as we call it only to be taken off inside of places we spent alot of time in our hotel talking and visisting instead of touring chicago which uses up alot of your time traveling in traffic which is furious the springhill suites in wauchegan was perfect location and new and very clean with indoor pool and quick acesss to the gurnee mall and ten min from the rtc theres a walmart and dunkin donuts and buffalo wild wings within 5blocks or so of the hotel we are already planning a trip back and will stay ther again .Make sure you leave early enough to get your sailor back to base he has to walk half mile or so to get back to his ship to chnge you can visit in the parking lot with them for few minutes also before they go in and can catch a shipmate to wallk back with and also meet some of his friends which makes them feel good to meet you.Our son loved to come back to the room and take his uuniform off and put on some shorts and lay on soft bed and watch a movie in our room which at the springhill had new releases rt on the tv to order that were playing at theaters it was great and he ate candy and power drinks till he was stuffed i bet he gained ten pounds lol well enough for now thankyou and any questions feel freee to ask >>>>PROUD DAD Tim
